Hello,

I wanted to ask if ii can apply for EE now. i am on work permit and working in my NOC job since last 6 months. I also worked back home for around 3 years. will i still have to show $13000 proof of funds?

Yes, you can apply if you are eligible. You probably aren't eligible under the Canadian Experience Class (1 year work ex required), but you may be eligible under FSW, based on your prior work experience.

Yes, you will have to show settlement funds - unless

1. You actually do qualify under CEC (did you work before in Canada, a total of 1 year in the past 3 years, NOC 0,A,B jobs)?
2. You have a valid job offer. This would require you to be on a closed work permit, with an LMIA (unless LMIA-exempt), and with a job offer from your employer that's valid for at least one year. More here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

If you don't have this job offer, yes, you need to show settlement funds.

Hey thanks for the reply. No I'm not on LMIA. I am working with this company for about 6 months now. No haven't worked in Canada before. So my best bet is to wait another 6 months?

Yes, if you can't meet the settlement fund requirement, your best option is to wait six months till you qualify under the CEC. CEC applicants do not need to show settlement funds.

I assume you're on a PGWP?
