Applying for CEC: Do you have to stay in Canada during the CEC processing?

I just completed 1 year work in Canada under Work Permit and will apply for CEC, but in another month I will travel to US as I'm being moved to a different assignment. My question is, if I need to continue to stay in Canada to get a favourable decision on my CEC application?

Appreciate any insight into this.

You are not required to stay in Canada while your CEC app is being processed.
