Hello,

I am planning to apply for Canadian PR as a FSW. I have a few questions

1. I am an Indian citizen, and I am in US for almost a year now. Should I apply for PR from US or India?

2. Given that I am not working in Canada, and I do not plan to work there till I get PR,

--- Do I need to provide proof of funds?
--- I have a child who is US born citizen, I dont intend to apply PR for him as he is eligible to be in Canada without a visa. In this case, should I have $13,837 (for 2 family members i.e me and my wife), or $17,011 (for 3 family members including my child)

1. You can choose either. You must apply from India (see next post).
2. You must provide proof of funds unless you have a job offer in Canada. You MUST include your US citizen son in the application. Failure to include you son in the application means that you will never be able to sponsor him for PR and also means that you will be committing misrepresentation (lying in your application) which could put your own PR status in jeopardy. Your son must also be included when you calculate the proof of funds you require.

I just looked at one of your earlier posts. You can't apply from the US. You must apply from India. To apply from the US you must have been admitted to the US for a period of at least one full year. You were only admitted for a few months. So you cannot apply from the US and must apply from India.
