hello folks,

My friend got negative decision on H&C case and they issued exclusion order in Feb.2015.But he applied for PRRA,again got refused. CBSA asked him to leave Canada on August 2015. Now he is going to apply for an ARC in order to come back to Canada. He is confused about does 12 months start when they issued the exclusion order or the time when he left Canada.(i want to add there was no criminal record or immigration fraud in his case)

Usually there is a 2 year ban after receiving a removal order from the time he leaves Canada.

Not if it's an exclusion order. Exclusion orders are typically one year.

I wouldn't bother applying for an ARC if you have a one year exclusion order. CIC tends to take their time processing ARCs for one year exclusion orders. By the time CIC processes the ARC, the exclusion order will likely almost be over and you'll have wasted several hundred dollars. I would just wait out the exclusion order outside of Canada.
