Hi guys,

I am an international student going to graduate from a university in ontario in Dec 2015. My study permit is valid for a good 15 more months till March 2017. I plan to apply for my post graduate work permit and leave canada on 25th Jan 2016 for a vacation to india and come back on March 8 2016. The university's official graduation ceremony will be in May 2016 but one can apply a PGWP after getting a letter from the university stating that course requirements have been completed.

1. My concern is that will there be a problem in re-entring canada on the study permit since i would get my PGWP till about 90 days after applying?
2. Secondly, if it all the immigration guy asks me for a reason to re enter canada, is it a good enough reason to say that the graduation ceremony is to be held in May 2016.
3. What are the pros and cons of going to niagara to get the PGWP.

thanks in advance.

1. No as long as you have a valid PP and TRV, you can enter Canada.
2. They can check your status with UCI# on system.

Thank you for your suggestion. One quick question, what does the UCI list out in my specific case?
