- RPRF Request 02-03-2015, PPR Request 10-03-2015
Hi all,
This is my situation. I landed 05/2015. I still have a PR card valid until 03/2021. I know I haven't met my residency obligation, so I might be reported if I tried to come back (although I do have a green card and would not need an ETA and live close enough to the border). Looking at the QSW route, it looks like I barely have enough points. I'd like to apply for a CSQ. However, I don't want to renounce my PR until I do receive it. Will Quebec know that I'm currently a PR? My plan is to get the CSQ, and then drive up to the border and visit while relinquishing my current PR. Then, I'd apply to Ottawa for another PR with my CSQ in hand. Is this even possible?
The reason I never settled the first time was that life happened and got married to another green card holder who was not keen to move to Canada at the time (took her to Montreal during the winter). We were living in the southern part of the US where winters are relatively mild. We've lived in the northern part of the US for the past year and now she is OK with living in colder climates.
