Is it possible to apply for common-law sponsorship after leaving canada? Is there a timeframe?

I left Canada in July after a 4 year overstay, I was never deported or given an exclusion order, I left on my own free will.

What should I do?

sorry let me rephrase.
am i able to apply for common law sponsorship while outside of canada? if i can, is there a certain timeframe i must apply before we no longer considered common-law? (since we are technically living apart)

did you live together for 12 consecutive months or more while you were inside canada before leaving.
if you did,
you can still apply common-law from outside canada..

just make sure you have evidence that your relationship is still ongoing since you left canada
:D

yep we actually lived together for a full 4 years consecutively. plenty of proof of that and plenty that we are still ongoing :). so there is no time limit after we are apart to apply common law? thats good. thanks

great! than you can definately apply. there is no time limit
and you will get approved for sure with 4 years of evidence.

also because you left on your own without ordered, your case should go smoothly. that was a good choice on your behalf

good luck! :)
