Gonna try my luck again, as none of my threads have been getting replies...

I have an LMIA exempt application in, approaching the 5 week processing time estimate. My future employer is getting antsy as the position has been open for a long time, and they're getting backed up workload wise. So, I'm looking at booking my flight and applying at the border, etc.

I've been given a work permit before under the same trade agreement (I'm a US citizen), however I have some concerns; there was an audit on my last employer, who was found non-compliant but was not penalized, as well as concerns they might not qualify the job under the NOC or that they might not accept the hour minimum for the job experience (I'm well qualified but for their definition may not have quite the number of hours logged in that position (by a fraction). I lived and worked in Canada prior for almost 10 years, and have a Canadian spouse, but we're not pursuing sponsorship at this time.

Knowing this, I hoped to avoid the POE route. Going in, has anyone here had the experience of being denied, or asked for more documentation? How did they handle that? I'm wondering if I have to leave, gather the docs and then reapply at the land crossing (I'll be flying in), or if I could enter as a visitor then flagpole.
For those that applied, how did you present your documents? I planned on just printing out everything I'd already electronically submitted, and was hoping to avoid presenting original documents like my diploma.

Any advice?I
