Search for parents sponsorship thread.

There is a lottery you can enter in January 2017 to see if you can be 1 of 10,000 applications allowed in 2017.

In order to sponsor her in 2017 you'll need Canadian income tax returns showing you (or your spouse if co-signer) meet the LICO income amounts for 2013, 2014 and 2015.

I got PR in 2015 but I worked since Nov 2012. Can I apply?

Also I took initial assistance from SAFSS . Will this impact my application?

As long as your Canadian income from 2013, 2014 and 2015 ALL meet the necessary LICO amount for your current family size, you can apply to the lottery in Jan 2017.

The only thing that matters is you aren't currently on assistance/welfare when you apply.

LICO + 30%. Maybe they will update 2015 soon.

We are family of 4 (me, wife, 2 kids). should I see table for 4 persons or 5 persons (including applicant, parent).

Size of Family Unit Minimum Income 2014 Minimum Income2013 Minimum Income2012
4 persons $57,125 $56,280 $54,685
5 persons $64,791 $63,833 $62,023

If you're 4, then with mother it becomes 5.
Check CIC website for details.

It will be 5 people. This is also assuming your father is no longer living or they are divorced.
