Does anyone of you experience this? My husband (Cambodian) applies for a study permit and I (from Hong Kong) as a dependent applies for an open work permit. We submitted our online application together in the US (We are now staying in the US as students), but my application does not require me to give biometrics. Do you think it is because of my country of origin or actually IRCC will ask me for biometrics later?

Did the wizard tell you not to pay the biometrics fees, or are you just reading the status that says "we do not need your biometrics."

There was an announcement today about suspension of some biometrics requirements for temporary permits. Yours may be affected, though as you are outside of Canada, you may get a biometrics request later.

If you paid a biometrics fee and the online application status says "we do not need your biometrics," it says this until you get a biometrics instruction letter. Then it says "We sent you instructions on how to complete biometrics," or something similar.

The wizard only asked for one study permit fee, one biometrics fee (which is for my husband), one work permit fee, and one open work permit holder fee. We have submitted our applications since end March, and my husband just got an appointment to give his biometrics next week.
