Apply OHIP while waiting for PGWP

I applied for my post-graduation work permit in Jan this year and started working full-time in Feb. I'm under implied status. Can I apply OHIP now or do I have to wait for my PGWP application gets actually approved (that's like 3 months from now)?

If I'm not eligible, any private health insurance you guys recommend? I need to see doctors during this period.

No you don’t qualify for OHIP during implied period. If it is routine appointments you usually have to pay even if you have insurance. Are these predicting issues. most medical coverage only covers emergencies. The full coverage medical insurance will be much more expensive may exclude any predicting conditions.

Thanks for your reply. I heard OHIP takes 3 month to be effective, does this mean I need to wait for 6 months from now? ( 3 month pgwp process + 3 month OHip)
