hello all,
It’s been almost 2 years since I have applied for PR. My husband is a Canadian citizen. From june, 2017 there is no updates from CIC. We got married two years ago and applied two years ago as well. Because of this long distance, our marriage would be affected, which I can feel now. Both of us are now in severe depression. My husband applied for GCMS note and the reply was “ in process”. He contacted his local MP as well. And the reply was the same like gcms note! The response was: my application is now under security stage. From then, there is no further updates. We are clueless now.
Can I apply for a temporary visit visa for at least one month now? It’s much needed for both of us!

I don’t have as much experience with these types of cases, but I don’t think that kind of purpose is a good enough reason, even if you do have a pending PR case. You still have to qualify on a TRV on the usual terms. That said, it’s usually very difficult for spouses of Canadians to get approved, but not impossible.

If your PR application has been at the security checks stage since a considerably long time then the chances of being approved for a TRV are low until those checks are completed. This is probably not what you'd like to hear. So sorry about it,

You can certainly apply for a TRV. Maybe you will get lucky. If you need help on preparing your application then do list the documents you intend to submit
