Apply for Canadian Immigration

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this post.

I want to know whether I can apply for Candian PR now. Is it the good time to do.

I am a software consultant and want to apply for PR in Canada.

Can anybody give some suggestions. Can I go through a Lawyer or not.

I am working in US for 3 years and I am in H-1 B.

At an initial stage your best resource is the Canadian immigration website. Look at the 38 preferred list of occupations to decide if you can qualify under one of the NOCs (0213 for computer professionals). Most of the duties you perform at work must match with the duties described for selected NOC. You can use a consultant, however, it is not mandatory.

Hi Kumar,

Thanks for the reply. I am not a Manger so I cant apply for this category.

I can bring a letter from India saying that worked for One year in India as a Manger.

Will that work?

Please take the self assesment test and eligibility test at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp to see if you qualify or not

To answer your specific question you should have done Computer and information manager duties as described under 0213 NOC for minimum one year in last 10 years.
