Hi

My application to extend my study permit has not been processed yet (I applied before the expiry date of my study permit) and now that I have graduated I want to apply for a PGWP. It says that one of the conditions for applying for PGWP is having a valid study permit.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I could not find any information on CIC website.

I don't understand! If you have completed your course and you want to apply for a PGWP then why did you apply for an extension on your study permit? How long has it been since you applied for an extension? If it was close to your graduation then you could have applied for PGWP instead. The best thing you can do is to call CIC and see if you can withdraw your study permit extension application, make a fresh application for PGWP, Compose a cover letter explaining the situation, and include it as supporting documents while applying.

Consult the international services at your school. Although I'm pretty sure they wouldn't know any better, but it's worth the double check.

Good luck,

I really don't know but it's critical for you to apply PGWP within 90 days after graduation.

Be sure to pay full fees (255+100 for open WP), fill out properly the forms, include college letter and transcripts clearly Staten course length, notes and that you completed the studies. Add an Explanation Letter about you are asking for PGWP, include copy of first Student Permit and copy of second permit application, receipts and any other document to prove it.

You can wait a bit to get your second student permit but better consider to apply ASAP.
