Applied PR. Open work permit

Hi,

I have applied for PR. My current work permit status is expiring end of this month. i have applied Open work permit already but still it is in progress. Let say if i not get PR and OWP before end of this month am i eligible to stay in Canada legally (NO Work.only stay) until mine OWP status know?

If you have already applied, yes. You can be here until you will get an answer accepted/refused. Remember to stop working once your current WP expires and you will stil be waiting.

Pultyn - hope we can continue working till we get the status of BOWP. I was working when my closed work permit was expired Oct-2016 and my BOWP was in-progress during that time.

I have applied VISITOR Record along with my BOWP application for my spouse. Is spouse eligible to stay with me ?

What kind of work permit do you currently have? In most cases, you can continue to work under "implied status," until you receive a response to your BOWP application.

it is closed work permit.

yes we can work until PR status know under BOWP as long as your company is accepting it. It some companies not accepting to work under BOWP.

Any ideas about Visitor record for spouse ? is it eligible to stay until VR status known? (VR applied along with BOWP application.Both application in progress)
