I am an Indian citizen in the US on work visa. I applied for a tourist visa for me and my husband to go to Canada for thanksgiving break (Nov 22--Nov 29) on Oct 7 but still haven't heard back. There's nothing odd for our case in my opinion. The average processing time is currently 9 days. I got a "ghost" email on the first day but since then, the online status says 'submitted' and nothing more. I tried emailing the consulates and filling in the CSE but there have been no changes/updates. Should I withdraw my application and re-submit or wait? Seems like withdrawing also involves a CSE which I have no hopes from (but at least I get my money back?).

Maybe background checks are delaying the decisions?

It's for the visa office to decide whether or not to allow you to withdraw your applications. Withdrawing/cancelling the processing could take up to 8 weeks. And. a new application could push your applications to the back of the processing queue. In short, don't withdraw/cancel.

No refunds
