I am married and I have submitted my application for permanent residency, so this means my husband would also get the same status that I have. The relationship is getting shaky now due to lack of communication plus the distance and time differences. He puts more effort on pleasing his friends than being emotionally supportive to me as his wife. Questions are:

1.If i decided to file a divorce before getting my PR, will it affect the application process?
2. If we continue the process and he gets here and try to work things out and find out later that it wont really work, will i be responsible for his welfare? like basic needs and will I have to support him for a years?
3. If i get a divorce few months after he is here will the law allow me?

I need enlightenment! please anyone who is on the same boat advise me thanks in advance

Try posting your question to the Foreign Worker section of this forum. This is where the majority of people are posting who are under the live-in caregiver program and have applied for PR.

This section of the forum is for Canadians who have sponsored family members.

Good luck.
