Hi, I am in the same boat. Please clarify what do you mean by it continues ???

I am also a FSW 2013 applicant & I have received my AOR in oct 2013. Since then I am waiting ......

Meanwhile I have applied to a canadian university for a MSc course at Fall 2014 (starting sep 14) & I am about to get an offer letter from the university.

Now what should I do:

1. Apply for a student vissa/ student permit ? (if so then will it create any problem to my PR application? will it arise any conflict issue for the Student visa application after PR application ??)

2. Should I inform my Visa Office prior applying for Study permit ?

Waiting for your suggestions.

Dear PMM
Thank you for your reply, May please explain more. I have the same concerns as Joashim and I am worried maybe I face a problem. I don't know whether to tell them that I have already applied for FSW or not. Actually, in one of their forms for student pass they have asked about UCI No., but I am worried and confused :( and can't make a decision :-\
Any rule or regulation regarding this matter?
Once again, thank you so much for your kind help
Best regards

Ok, I was in the same boat 4 years ago....

The VO who interviewed me was very, very nice. She told me that if you have a pending immigration app and apply for a temp visa (visitor, student, work permit) it is usually a no go----unless it is a good bet that your immigration application will be finalized within the time you are in Canada as a temp resident.

Basically, if you are applying for a 8 month program, you will be in Canada for atleast 16 months (8 months study, 8 months PGWP) and if there is a excellent chance that your application for FSW will be finalized within that period, they will usually grant you the visa. If not, then they are genuinely afraid that you will remain in Canada awaiting the finalization of your application even after your permission to stay on a temp basis expires

They cross check all applications for previous applications, so they will know anyways. You do not want to be denied for misrepresentation.

There is nothing in the rules that say that you cannot apply for a student visa if you have a FSW application pending. So, you are doing nothing wrong by applying for a student visa while you have a pending applicatio for FSW

"Dual Intent" is acceptable.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/intent.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob131.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/dual.asp

But at the end, you have to show that you will leave Canada if your Immigration application is not accepted and your student visa is expired. It all depends upon your SOP, that how strong you can show your home ties.

Dear friends

First of all I am really grateful to you for your kind support and help by answering my questions.
Dear ALI2K535 thank you so much for the links and yr kind advice, I really appreciate yr kind help.

I have some issues regarding to my FSW application, too.

As I mentioned, I applied for FSW13 and then I received a cover letter along with all my documents and UCI no (it is written in my Generic application form by red pen).

In the letter it is mentioned that I should fill the new shedule3 form (it was highlighted).

I checked the CIC website and realized that most of the forms are updated, so now I am worried what shall I do. I have filled in all documents, again. Now, I don't know what to do

1. Whether I fill the shedule3 form along with all updated forms and send them back. Or no need, I only renew the shedule3?

2. When they give "UCI No" and asked me to fill new form, it is considered as a green light? Meaning I have any chance?

Thank you in advance for your kind support and help

BTW, my documents have "checked sign (√)" with red pen on them (meaning were reviewed) for each question that I answered in the forms.
I had grouped and classified all my documents using stapler. Also, the certified legal translations were attached using metal eyelets (normally official translator or a notary office use metal eyelets to show that this is an original work done by them). All stapler pins and eyelets were opened.
