Dear All,
I do have a few questions since my current situation is a bit unusual I would say.
I applied for the Express Entry through (FSW) from France earlier on this year while awaiting to receive a closed work permit (24months) to work in Quebec City in the same time.
(Covid being around for a long time having a back up plan was mandatory in case things would’ve gone south.)
I already received my closed work permit for Quebec and I’ve been working there for 6 months already, meanwhile I have expressed my interest to settle down in the province of Ontario with the clear intention to live there after receiving my PR and I got nominated by the province to apply for PR to their nominee program .
My questions are as follows :
1- After getting the invitation to receive my CPOR, will I be able to keep working in Quebec with my closed WP until I decide to leave my employment and be ready to move to my new province and activate my PR? How long will my CPOR valid for? And how long will I have to activate it?
I meant by that, that I must inform my employer of my intent to resign and relocate to another province.
I would use this time to browse around and find my new accommodation in Ottawa.
2- Will I be able to collect my PR directly while being in Quebec or will I have to leave the country and get it back in again and get it from a port of entry ( Land border or else) ?
To summarize :
Currently working with a closed WP in Quebec, and about to receive my CPOR to live in Ontario.
I wish to keep working a bit more in Quebec with my current company before collecting my PR and relocate to Ontario.
Will I be able to keep working in Quebec with my closed WP until I decide to leave my employment and be ready to move to my new province and activate my PR?
How long will my CPOR valid for?
And how long will I have to activate it?
Will I be able to collect my PR directly while being in Quebec?
or will I have to leave the country and get it back in again and get it from a port of entry ( Land border or else) ?
Thanks guys
Wishing you all best of luck in your immigration process.
