Hello

I was wondering if anyone has had to deal with their application being sent to the wrong visa office. my application was sent to Beijing whereas I clearly indicated New Delhi on my application. Has anyone had this happen to them, if so can you please advise me on what steps you took to rectify this problem.

Any INPUT would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It depends if it's an error from CIC, or a deliberate choice.

Sometimes you can choose a VO but CIC may decide that you have more links to another one. For example, if you're Chinese, but resident in India, you may want your application to go to New Delhi, but CIC may decide that they would rather process your application in Beijing. As the VO of choice is determined by either the current residence of the applicant, OR his/her nationality, it's up to CIC to choose... you can select one in your application, but CIC may decide otherwise.

However, if you're from India ( or one of the countries served by New Delhi), and resident there as well, and have NO links to Beijing whatsoever, then it is clearly a mistake. You should write to Beijing, send a case specific enquiry, and explain that there has been a mistake and that your file should be sent to New Delhi instead, and ask then to look into it urgently. It will delay your case, but unfortunately at this point there is not much else you can do.

Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks for the reply. Beijing VO stated they would transfer file to NDVO. Unfortunately, I was told to expect delays :-[ :(
