Hi All,

I have just received all my application back, and inside the package, they have highlighted a reason (could be a few unless I misunderstood) for the rejected application in an attached letter. I need your advices on this case.

1st Highlight:

They highlighted the "note" on work experiences but not really stating what documents are missing. I have attached a letter from my HR department from where I am currently worked for 7 years (1st and only job). Included payslips, detail of work which has been matched against the required job description for my NOC (2132), and lastly the complete letter of employment according to the document checklist. Am I missing any additional documents here?

2nd Highlight:
They highlighted that I am missing ECA report. This is actually weird because I graduated from University of Windsor, Ontario as a Mechanical engineer. I have read that I do not need an ECA report unless I was studying outside of Canada. Am I correct on this?

I received my package on christmas day. I would think it will be tough to get a new letter from the HR to resubmit the documents on this holiday season, but do you guys think I can do some appealing? Sending an email will be late as well noting that I have sent an email previously for a status update (application sent in july 2014) on the 28th of November and until now, no human response yet. Other than getting on the EE train next year, any other way I can do to salvage before the end of the year?

oh so sorry to hear this.
About ECA, what you have done before Mechanical engineer from University of Windsor, Ontario?
About Work Experience,it was fine as per my knowledge, the only point is matching of your current JD would be near to 70 - 75% with the mentioned main duties for the NOC 2132. Think a loud it can be the reason...
.
THe application assessment officer is a paid employee, he/she does know any thing.
They only have a set of instructions and guide lines with them for each application assessment point, they read our employment letter and then match the written words with instruction guide provided by CIC department, canada.

I was still browsing and re-read the letter again and it mentioned something about not meeting regulation 10 and 11 of IRPA. This regulation seems to be quite broad.

I was in my high school in Indonesia. Does high school count as secondary school? If so, i guess that is my mistake.

The only rejection reason is your JD is not matching with the duties mentioned in NOC 2011

yes, i suppose so. High school is secondary education, while colleges and universities are tertiary to my understanding.

So does that mean you guys also get ECA report for your high school?

Possible, but then to me it looks quite the same with what are stated in the website. I dont know. Maybe my udnerstanding is different.

So I guess that's it? time to board the EE train? nothing i can do to salvage?

As i told you , they dont know any thing, beside matching the words (does not mean copy paste).
for EE, better to modify your reference letter

Sorry for my previous answer! Probably it is fine without the high school in ECA report, as long as you have your post-secondary education.

Not sure about the first point, but CIC definitely made a mistake on the second point. If you have a Canadian education, then there is no need for ECA. You should get points for your canadian degree without ECA. Make sure you understand what the first point is about. If that seems like a mistake on CIC's part too, then you should consider asking CIC for reconsideration of your application.

For your first point, you need officer's signature, salary, period of employment, etc. Look at the document checklist for a list of their requirements. If you do not meet their requirements for letters your application may consider incomplete. You may write verbatim of your work letter (minus personal details) here so that we can judge what is missing.

For your canadian credentials, I believe you need both copies of transcripts AND copies of your certificates (as stated on their instruction guide). Having either one only may be another reason of rejection.
