Application Received vs Documentation Verified by CIC...confusing!!

ok so I was under impression that once they put Application received...That means they reviewed the package and accepted the application and wont be returning it as incomplete....??

but on CIC website says that 2nd step is "Documentation Verified by CIC - We are reviewing your application to make sure it is complete and that no documents are missing. We will return incomplete applications for resubmission"

so does this mean your application Still may be returned to you ??

Ugh! i don't think I should be checking the status every day...driving me nuts! lol

You're right VB, it is a bit unclear as to whether they have checked for completion in Mississauga or in the visa office doing the application decision making -- or both. I have a feeling it's at both points, i.e. Mississauga assures all SPONSOR elements and key applicant forms are included. They make their decision (SA) & it is forwarded to the foreign processing office, which does another pass to make sure everything THEY need is included. Unless there are major errors / missing elements I don't think they would return the whole package but rather just ask for the missing info.

They are not going to return your application . They sent me an email requesting more information. They haven't given me AOR until they have reviewed my application again. So i'm thinking you are just fine.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking....I've read posts on here from senior members that's once u get your AOR and UCI that means they checked it and accepted it...they still may ask for more documents....which is fine...I just had to send it really fast so I was sure they would return it as incomplete...and then we got a or and UCI and I was like Yes! Whew...

But yeah, its a bit confusing.....
