Application received..now what?

My application was just delivered this morning to Missasauga! What is the next step? Will they give me a file number via email or snail mail? When will this be? What has been your experiences in regards to timing of when you're notified that the ball is rolling? Also, I've heard it takes about a month to be approved to sponsor?

The sponsor will receive a letter somewhere around the 30 day mark, maybe a little more or little less. It will then be forwarded on to the appropriate visa office, which will send a letter acknowledging receipt of the application. The eCas system should start working somewhere after that. That's how I understand it.

Actually depends a lot on how you applied also. Inland or outland and what kind of sponsoring. Plus what country you're from etc.
Pharohs timeline is correct if you're applying Outland with a spouse/common law partner. Mostly you just wait
