Application package sent to CIC, Recieved on Apr 29th - when do I get reply?

Hello all!

I sent my application package to CIC for the sponsorship of my spouse.
According to the tracking number, the package was recieved by CIC on April 29th, 2014.
I specified my email, so everything should go there.

My questions are:
a) does CIC sent out a "We recieved your package and are looking at it" - once it has been opened?
b) how long does it typically take for them to look it over, and sent out a reply?
c) if I call the CIC, will they have information to confirm that the application has been recieved?

According to the CIC website, as of 5/17/2014 - Working on applications received on April 1, 2014,
Does this mean that it's about 28 more days until they look at my application?

Did you file an outland or an inland application?

What you are referring to is called AOR here. If you filed and OUTLAND application, I guess from what I understand, it could take anywhere from 2 weeks from receipt to a month for you to receive AOR. If you filed an INLAND application, you are likely months away from getting your AOR, which is not uncommon. It's only been a couple weeks since it was sent in, so sit back and be patient for a bit longer depending on your filing situation, it will come.

Right now if you are applying outland spousal sponsor ship is taking 44 days.

That is for full sponsorship approval, not just the AOR. I am not sure, but I think he is only asking about getting AOR.
 
It seems like AOR is coming the same day .I applied the 8th of April and haven't heard anything .From spreadsheets that seems to be the going thing . They are just starting on application as of April first.

My application is OUTLAND (I am in Canada, a Canadian citizen, but my wife is in Ukraine, a Ukranian citizen.).
So after they start on applications recieved on the 29th, it would take some time? They won't be sening a "We recieved your application" letter?

No you won't be getting a letter .When i sent my application off it was 28 days , it just got longer and longer . You may be lucky and it returns back to less time. They open the package then send your Aor, but like i said they seem to be coming the same day.After sponsorship we won't hear nothing from them unless they need some more information. One we get are client id number we then can check on line for any updates.
 
Please join our April thread for outland applications , it will give you an idea of how long things are taking.
 
They received my app may 27 2013 I was approved as sponsor June 15 2013. They didn't start processing until December 2013. Look at processing times on the cic website and sit tight until that time goes by.
Be patient from what I read calling and sending emails does not help speed up the process. They were on strike for a long time and thank God that's over. Soooo hopefully yours will be faster than the posted wait time :)
