Application of Minor

I want to separately apply citizenship for my 4 year old son. My own separate Citizenship application is already in progress since March. He has not been physically present in Canada 3 out of the last 5 years.

Which option should I choose?

1) Minor 5(2) application

Minor has a Canadian parent or a parent who is applying for citizenship at the same time


2) Minor 5(1) Application

Minor does not have a Canadian parent or a parent who is applying for citizenship at the same time

Neither.
5(1) requires physical presence and 5(2) requires the Canadian citizenship of a parent.
Your options : let the kid accumulate 3 years of physical presence, or apply under 5(2) after your oath.
Also, you may want to contact IRCC and see if there's a way to add a new 5(2) application to your ongoing one, in which case, please let us know if the possibility is actually granted.
