Application In-Process Passport Requested What's next?

Hello everyone,

First time posting here.

I have send in my application to sponsor my wife March this year. The sponsorship application was approved by June and the application was sent to the Beijing office by then.

Today my wife has just received an email requesting her original passport. Here is what I got from the online status checking:

In Process

We received your application for permanent residence on March 12, 2012.

We started processing your application on September 3, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

Does this mean that her visa is ready to be stamped or does this mean that they need to review her passport before a decision is made?

Also, when should we be expecting to get her passport back? Since we do have other travel plans, which would not be possible without her passport.

To me it seems a very good news.

Your wife's visa its about to be issued, usually after 3 weeks after the staus in changed in process you get passport request which it dit happend in your wife's case.

I see no reason to not start celbrate

As for sending back your wife's passport I don't really know how long will take, that depends of every VO.

My wife will be sending out her passport tomorrow. Hopefully we will receive a decision soon!
