Application form fill-up after getting ITA

Hi,

I have recently got an invitation with spouse and child to apply for PR in express entry and now I am filling up the application form. My wife was divorced and she has a child who is now living with us. I have to answer a question while filling up the form and looking for the correct answer.

What is your relationship to the first child?
Answer: Guardian or Parent

Please give the answer I should put Thanks in advance.
 
If the child has a father, then you are the guardian and need to submit some guardianship certifcate. if the child does not have a father or has relinquished paternity with the child, then you can adopt the child and be a parent and submit adoption certificate.
 
My husabnd is currently enrolled for phd. Our foem asks for current study and then asks if this degree has been awarded a canadian certificate. If we say no then it asks for eca. But since its a canadian degree we should not need and eca. Then again we cant give yes to the first question because he has just been enrolled and he hasnt been awarded the degree yet. Really confused. Help someone!!??

Did you get an ITA based on him being at PHd level?

No he just enrolled. We recieved the ita after he enrolled and are filling the form as the phd as his current education that started in september.
