Hello Everyone,

I've been following this forum for quite a while as its one of the best sources of information for these kind of topics, specially now that I plan to apply for PR (finally).
I'm an international graduate from a Canadian University and I've been accumulating enough work experience for a while in order to apply for this program. I've got 6 months already so I Plan to go for the Alberta PnP program (International Graduate Stream), and then if I'm nominated I will apply under the Economic Class category (more specifically CEC).
My spouse is overseas (and since we are from Colombia we both require TRV to get in Canada) and I plan to include her in the application. It is my understanding that the processing times for the applications submitted in Canada under this specific category is ~13 months, will that apply to my spouse even though she is currently in Colombia? or her processing time will be different than my own (Bogota's visa office processing time is ~17 months) even though the application for both of us is going to be submitted from within Canada?.
Are we expected to send "proof" of our love/relationship with this application too?

Thank you for help.

I'm a little confused by this - the Provincial Nominee Program (Alberta PNP) and the CEC Program are two distinct programs. You can apply to both programs at the same time, is this what you mean?

If you apply, you will be the main applicant and your wife a co-applicant. There will only be one application, so one processing time.

See the document checklist for required documentation - below are the links for the documents required for the CEC application. If you are married, you will have to provide a copy of your marriage certificate -

Thanks for the reply Jes.

What I meant with the PnP is that after I get nominated if I submit that application to the CIC it will be under Economic Class category I think.

As for my wife, thats good to know. I was worried that we had to deal with Bogota's processing times.

For the relationship proof. I already have the marriage cert. Its just that I've read cases of people that have had to submit conversation transcripts, call records, pictures, etc. So thats what I meant.

OK, well this forum is for the Canadian Experience Class program. There is a different forum for the Provincial Nominees, you'll probably want to post your questions there from now on.

That is for family class applicants, not economic class. However, if for some reason CIC does not believe that your marriage is geniune, they could always ask for more proof later.
