Dear all,

I've applied for Proof of Citizenship for my son and daughter aged 19 months and 3 years respectfully. I sent the applications to the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on February 27th, 2018, received a correspondence letter for both applications on April 18th, 2018 stating that IRCC has received my applications. To this day, I have checked on the website about application status and it has not changed since then and still shows "Application Received". I contacted to Canada Case Specific Inquiry on December 21st, 2018, and this is what they responded

"
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

While the processing times may vary with each case, we will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that we will communicate with you once a decision is taken.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry."

It's been well over 2 months since I last contacted them, what should and could I do?

Thank you for any input.

Have you ordered the GCMS notes? If not, that would be the smart thing to do.

I am a Canadian citizen, I got my citizenship through birth and currently have resided in a foreign country for over 5 years. Isn’t GCMS notes only available to Canadian residents?

No - that's not the case. There are many options for ordering notes from outside of Canada.
