Hi,

According to this:

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/fees_frais_usd.aspx?lang=eng

I need to pay USD 1060 for a family of 3 (my spouse, myself and our one year old kid) - 465 x 2 + 130

please let me know if those applying from the US are paying the same fees or they have paid in Canadian dollars ( the fees reqd in CAD is 1250 for a family of 3).

btw, i'm applying from Buffalo, US

and pleople in USA pls let me know whom did u make the demand draft in the name for.since all apps go to Nova Scotia, the draft is in the name of "Receiver General for Canada" for all applicants

you have to make the draft payable to the "Receiver General for Canada" and indeed if you're applying for FSW you have to send it to Sydney

You have to pay in CAD even if you are applying from US. You can get it from your Bank (the cheque) although they would charge you some oversees cheque fees ( 30-50 dollars)

true,it has to be in CAD dollars

Hi,

Sorry for contradicting the above, I DID pay both Initial Application fee (1400/- for Spouse+2 Kids+myself in June 2008) & RPRF (830/-for Spouse & myself in July 2009) in USD and had no issues.

Thanks

Max

BTW forgot to mention, I am in USA.

Thanks

Max

Man missing many things in one reply, also addressed it to Canadian Consulate General & NOT Receiver General of Canada.

Thanks

Max

when did you do this? it must've been before April 1, 2009... pls confirm.

there have been many rejections reported on this forum after Apr 01 for the above reason

Hi,

First one in June 2008 & RPRF in July 2nd week 2009

Thanks

that explains. coz they dont care about the currency in case of RPRF

post nov 2008 applicants must pay their APPLICATION FEE in CAD. Pre Dec 2008 applicants made out the check to the consulate but post nov applicants are making it out to the governor general because it is not going to the consulate.

RPRF comes later and can be paid in USD for Buffalo applicants.
