Hi,
I have moved to Canada and am being sponsored by my husband. As part of my application, I applied for an open work permit which I received in January. However, this permit states that I cannot work in a school which is a problem as I’m a teacher. I was informed by an agent that I needed to get my medical exam and apply to change the conditions of my OWP which I did online.
I was then informed by email that there had been a change of status made on my new work permit application. I was shocked to see that it had been cancelled and have received no message as to why.
I finally got through to an agent who informed me that he believed the officer dealing with my application had made a mistake as there seemed to be no reason why it would have been cancelled. He said he’d put an alert/ message on my account so an officer could reconsider the application. This is very stressful because I have no idea how long this will take and I have an offer of employment with my school district.
Has anyone had a similar experience/ know how long it takes for mistakes to be fixed? Very frustrating as it’s not my fault!!
Thank you!
