Hi Guys!

I have submitted my application in April 2020 to sponsor my wife , who is and has been living outside Canada.

I have completed and sent all the forms and supporting documents as requested in the checklist, however I received a letter from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada last week returning all my submissions. The exact wordings in the letter is "We are returning your submission, including all the supporting documents you included as it dos not meet the requirement for processing. [omitted] As it does not meet the requirement for processing your submission and documents are being returned to you and will not be processed or put in the queue for processing". It also mentioned that if I want to resubmit my application, I must addressed the missing requirement, among those listed requirements, the item "Class of Application not properly identified" is bolded in the letter.

I wonder if that means my application being returned as "Class of Application not properly identified". As my wife has been living outside Canada, I applied under the Family Class. I didn't tick any boxes relating to application of Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class in my checklist but still it got rejected.

It's a bit frustrating to receive the rejection letter after around a year of waiting.

Does anyone here who shares similar experience of application being rejected for such reason, or having experience of resubmitting application? Looking forward to listening to your sharing! Thanks!!!

That's truly awful and my sympathies - you are an understated person if you say only 'a bit frustrating.'

Which box did you tick in that section?

This process is shameful, heartless. They don't even put it in queue and ask the missing docs or forms after 1 year.
