Applicant with Canadian child

Guys,

what should I upload in section "Family Member Proof of Status (required)" for Canadian child. does it requires status document of parents as child is canadian

I included my Canadian son into the application. The system asked for his passport and Birth certificate, nothing else. In the PR application there will be a question if s/he is a Canadian citizen and that's it. I would recommend to include him/her. It's good to show that you have a little Canadian, it might help your background check as well. Or if anything goes wrong officers might be a little more helpful. It's all theory, but in fact, your kid is accompanying you.

1. Passports/Travel Documents (Multiple) (required)

2. Family Member Proof of Status (required) - This is confusing me, Not sure If I have to upload my family status documents in Canada like work permit, visitor permit and study permit.

Hi,

For the section 2. Family Member Proof of Status my Immigration advisor uploaded the following documents (I am CEC-Inland):

1. Work Permit Applicant
2. Work Permit Spouse
3. Canadian Birth Certificate of the Child
4. Note: not required in our case, but if the Applicant or Spouse is in Canada basis TRV the TRV page needs to be uploaded here too.

I got some more questions

I am here on work permit and my wife on visitor permit, we got extended multiple time so we have multiple status document

1. Do we need to upload all status documents
2. We did not get TRV stamped all time and my TRV is on multiple passport, so what should I do in that case
3. We also have a non Canadian child, so do we need to upload his status documents too

2. TRV stands for Temporary Resident Visa, right? If yes it is only required to upload the passport page with has the current valid Canadian Visa. (not sure how you can have multiple valid Canadian Visa in multiple passports?) (N
3. Sorry this I don't know. I am not familiar with the process where the family dependents will be entered in the system as this has been done by my Immigration advisor. Would recommend to check with more senior users where to add all dependents and the upload of Family Member proof correctly (in this case for your Non-Canadian child).

I came here on work permit and it got extended multiple time, so I have more then one work permit

Each time my assignment got extended, I got new work permit and accordingly I got TRV stamped. As one of my passport expired, I got new passport and TRV was stamped on new passport.
Also, we are already in Canada

Hi,

Irrespective from Work Permit renewals and Visa renewals you can only hold one current valid Permit and one current valid TRV on your current passport. Since you most likely uploaded the pages of your current valid passport (in one of the other sections) use the TRV stamp page from this passport.

Agree to that so will attached latest one, but I do not have TRV as it is required only to enter in Canada and I did not leave Canada after getting my latest work permit, so in nutshell I do not have any valid TRV

All the documents requested under the name of your children apply to their documents and not yours. Every child should have their own placeholders, but Canadian one surely does a separate one.

Proof of family member's status is just a term. It means the status of the child. If s/he is Canadian it can be Canadian Passport or Canadian Birth Certificate. If s/he is not Canadian, it will be the child's recent and valid Canadian visa.

There is no need to upload anything from the main applicant or spouse to these placeholders.
