Hi,
I recently received a cheque dated October 3rd from CIC for the amount of $475, which I believe is the fees I paid back in 2007 to sponsor my mother. When I spoke to the CIC call centre, I was advised that they have sent me a letter back in August 29. I did not receive such letter and I don't know even what is the content of this letter. CIC will send me a copy. Please note that they are currently processing applications submitted in September 2007, while I submitted the application in December 2007.
Assuming that the letter is a refusal letter, do I have still ground to appeal given that I did not receive such letter? the evidence to that, that I called right away when I received the cheque and requested a copy of the letter to be sent to me to find the content.
My other assumption is that my wife whom I seperated from, was the co-signer and contact CIC to advise them that she is no longer want to be co-signing on this application (please note, I was not advised her inttention to do so), the question still will be do I have ground to do anything instead of re-applying???
Four years has passed in waiting, I would love to avoid waiting for another four years if not more to re do an application as my mother she is an older lady. Any bit of information would help please.
