AOR- with no estimate of time of processing

Hi All,

I just got my AOR by email tonight and have a question: Do CIC normally tell you how long the application will take to process in the AOR? Mine only says fees are paid, that the application is complete and is going to be processed.

There is no way of knowing when it come to these things and CIC. They say average of 13 months, but that is based upon applications processed in 2013. I suggest every month you apply for GCMS to keep abreast with your application. To me it appears that has become the defacto method of being kept informed about your application.

I was only asking because I read in other posts that they used to tell you how long in the AOR and wanted to make sure they sent me the AOR and nothing else. Sorry, I've been waiting for this over 4 moths now and I had to read that email 4 times before I could believe the finally sent me the AOR and can sort of my BOWP.

firs of all calm down. GCMS is Global Case Management System (very detailed information about your application). You can order it online if you want. It is not mandatory. People just order GCMS for a detailed info about their applications.

Do we have to make a request under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act? I'm am August applicant, is it too early for me to ask for it? I'm only curious and I want to prevent any further inconvenient
