Should of been yesterday!
I was wondering if anyone has had the same situation...my husband is from jamaica and has had a departure back in 2012 for refugee claim...i really want my husband to come here to visit for 3 weeks...i know he is allowed to return with a visitor visa but my concern is he doesnt have alot of ties to jamaica doesnt own a home nor car...basically the only thing we will be able to say is our pr is in process and he will return because we will not jeporadise our claim in process...has anyone got through to visit with a departure? I dont want to see him get here and have an officer tell him he cant stay...

It's going to be virtually impossible for him to get a visitor visa given his past refugee claim. Best if you just visited him instead.

Agreed. Between the failed refugee claim, departure order and lack of ties to Jamaica - the TRV is guaranteed to be refused and you'll just be throwing away money.

Just apply to sponsor him for PR.

I think she already applied to sponsor him and for PR,based on what she wrote.

I agree with the OPs it would be a waste of money because of his denied refugee claim.

You should visit him whenever you can, until the Sponsorship and PR applications are final.

Thanks..its just sooo much more convient and cheaper for him to come home for a visit then me to travel there again ...but after reading your responses, i booked a trip down to see him...
