Hello.

Has anyone been successful in gaining a PR with having a different job title and a different job description?

Like in my case...my job title is Financial Analyst which falls into the NOC code 1112, however my job duties fall into the Accountant NOC code 1111.

I am planning to apply within 1 month and want to know my risks of my application being rejected...

Kindly provide any information possible...

Thanks

Hi,

They dont look at the title but the duties if they match or not with the NOC. So if you job duties are more like accountant then apply as an Accountant NOC.

Anyone successful with a different job title & description?

YES

Job Tiltle is not important, Job duties must match with claimed NOC.

You can claim your Job duties for NOC: 0111 and/or NOC:1111

They say atleast 70% of the duties listed in the list should match with your duties. I cant say if your duties will be enough or not but visaexpert or someone else will surely help you with this.

Write your job duties in details.

Write at least 10 sentences and compare the duties with NOC:1111 of CIC web.

Hi mrk,

I am in the same situation, my contractual job tile is Corporate Reporting Analyst but i have performed most of NOC1111 duties, Ifyou like we can share our experiences together, my initial application reashed CIO on 15 April and i am waiting forthe AOR, I have attached addittional sheet to my application where i made a table for each job i performed, stating my Contractual job tile with its NOC equivelent and code. As you know job description must be written in different wording and copy and paste from the canadian NOC defenition, thats why MATCHING is very important, you have to use your own wording but with same meaning as per NOC duties.

please feel free to contact me

Thanks

Nice to know "MoatazEiss" that your are in the same boat that I am :)

I am very eager to know your outcome of your application process...by the way where are you applying from?

so you have sent to the Sydney CIO office right?

thanks for the info and as you have already applied I will ask for your advise...hope you dont mind.

Hi mrk,

You are very welcome, I am applying from Saudi Arabia , my application was received by Sydney CIO on 15 April, usually it takes 60-70 days to get the AOR.

I have stated my job description mentioned in my reference letter in another post seeking opinions from other accountants.
from my understanding is Job duties is the main key as long as the title is within the same scope it can be accepted. for example it could be accepted that a financial analyst is performing accountant duties and the financial analyst title was just given inaccurately from HR plus there are lots of grey areas in accounting and finance jobs as it depends on how each organization is being managed. different title can cause problem if it is totally out of scope, for example how can you imagine a person with title plumber or hotel manager performing NOC 1111 duties !!!! :)

Also another point i thought about, there is a difference between occupation and job title, in our cases our occupations are accountants but with different job titles.

This was just my opinion and i hope it will be correct.

of course we can be in touch and i will let you know the outcome of my application.

Thanks,
Moataz
