Hi All,

I am a working woman looking for accommodation in Ottawa preferably shared and near University of Ottawa, near public transit bus or o-train.
My work location is near Albert / Bank.

Please suggest if you have or know of any availability.
Suggest some good localities near by where I should focus my search.

Hey!

You've probably already found somewhere but here's some general advice for others with the same question.

Firstly, I'd use the Find a Home tool on this website to research Ottawa neighbourhoods to find one that matches your budget, lifestyle, etc and is a manageable distance from both school and work. Once you have a couple in mind, a great website to use is Rentals.ca. There you can set your price range, choose the number of bedrooms/bathrooms you're looking for, and look for rentals on their map view to find one in your ideal neighbourhood. This is really useful if you're dead set on living in a certain area of town (like near UOttawa) and rental websites tend to have a lot less scams than kijiji/craigslists/etc.

Make sure to contact a couple landlords whose rentals you're interested in and remember to always be diligent about rental contracts. Good luck with your future searches!
