As mentioned in the title, myself ( Father born in Ontario Canada ) am sponsoring my wife abroad with our application reaching PPR/COPR status.. I've been talking back and forth with the consular office & vfs regarding next steps for my 3 month old baby & been referred to apply for numerous things, including a LVP. They haven't helped me with anything else since.

I've already applied for her Proof of Citizenship so that only leaves me with the LVP to worry about.

I essentially have the document package ready for my wife to submit in person, however 1 of the requirements for LVP is having a imminet travel plane ticket. But on the form PPTC042 it states to not finalize flight plans until you receive the requested passport?

It's an 11 hour drive for my wife to reach the consular office and vfs.. So I'm looking to straighten everything out before she makes the trip.

How did you guys deal with the LVP process?

I assume you mean limited validity passport.

You could do one of three things: have some reservation that you have not paid for, a ticket on which you can get a refund, or simply book a ticket four weeks or more in future to reduce likelihood of issues. The last two should work with different levels of risk, the first (just a reservation): my experience has been that they are not THAT picky about this part of things, but they could say it's not a real ticket. (That's where you argue and say the instructions say DON'T get a ticket)

It's possible they won't ask for a ticket at all - I think that's quite possible if the app is for a young child esp infant.
