Any new applications approved while an old one in process?

We all know now that it is possible to have both a PRE C-50 (the 38 jobs list) and a POST C-50 application at the same time. My question is has anyone in this forum actually received a POST C-50 visa when their old one was still in process?

Hi. In my understanding, it is NOT possible.

I had an old file with them under the simplified application process (before Nov 2008 Ministerial Instructions -- or before the 38 occupation).

We had to withdraw that application so we could apply under the then "new process" (38 occupations).

The embassy specifically mentioned in their letter that they cannot process a "new" application unless they close an "existing" file.

I hope I answered your question. If it will happen that you encounter such a case, then they may have just overlooked the previous file or the case may be an exception and I could not speak for that. My answer is dependent on my personal experience and based on the information that Canadian Embassy Manila gave me.
