Any info on the Strike? My husband is in limbo and we are scared.

Hi, I haven't been checking updates in a while so I don't know if this was already covered...

But I have a question to anyone is willing to answer.

I know Canada Manila Immigration office is on strike, or is that correct? I few months back I asked if it was a good idea to come to Canada to wait out the process and we did. So now we are here (we came from Japan).
After we arrived, immigration asked for my husband's passport and the final papers he needed. We sent it all off to Manila... and... then nothing.
He is now in limbo in Canada with NO PASSPORT.
What should we do??? We were right at the end, they got the passport to stamp... and they haven't written back. My husband's visitor time (6 months) is soon running out.

There are some parents sponsorship case like mine where parents are here, passport in India for stamping

I extended visa for longer period, it's on-line and you need to upload passport copies so you can wait for apply for little ext

Try asking help from your MP to follow up with CIC.
