Obviously she can sponsor you if she is your real sister..everyone knows thatnssnick said:I have my real sister as a permanent resident, living in Toronto at present. Will that be of any advantage to me in case of settling there permanently on CEC or any other basis? I am going on student visa?

From what i have seen if shes your real sista, then she can get your whole family settled in canada.rest go and talk to an agent.they will clear the stuffnssnick said:How does that help while filing for permanent residency?
Josh21 said:She cant sponsor you unless you're parents are no more. She can sponsor your parents right now but not you. That's how it works basically.
When you apply through CEC, you will get some points for her being your sister. That's about it.
scylla said:Agreed - she can't sponsor you. However depending on how you apply for PR - you might get extra points for having family in Canada. You won't get extra points for your sister if you apply for PR through CEC because the CEC program does not function on a points basis. You will, however, get points for your sister if you apply for PR through FSW.

nssnick said:So, all in all,The result is - that my sister's PR is of no benefit to me if I come on student visa to Canada? True? RIGHT?
Josh21 said:Not really, it's more of a pass/fail system.
Points come into play in the Skilled Worker program. I ment FSW in my last post, my bad.
Yes, no benefit immigration wise if you plan to use CEC.
nssnick said:Why specifically you said "CEC" ? Is there any other way too?
I dont understand these guys..but my friend got settled because his sister got pr in canada...she sponsored the whole familynssnick said:
