Hi,

I had sent application couple of weeks back (family sponsorship). Through postal service (Priority Post) I got the confirmation that it has reached Mississauga. I am sponsoring my daughter. How do I know if my application has been received by CIC. Is there any acknowledgement that we get?

I tried through the official receipt number that I paid the fees online as well as using client ID however, no record is shown yet. How do we know if CIC has received the application? They should acknowledge that in some way.

Please share your experience here.

We don't...we just have to wait until CIC starts processing the application. It stinks, but there's nothing we can do about it.

Patience is what is needed during sponsor approval and applicant processing...

hi sushmet
i dont want to make you worried about your application just sharing my frustration with CIC.
there is no way to confirm if CIC received your application or not. i am waiting for that kind of confirmation for last 100 days but didnt get anything yet. i called CIC around 20 times in last 1 month and they told me something different every time. there are some responses i got from CIC-
* we might have sent your application back, just wait and call again after 3 months.
* we might have lost your application but dont send another application without request from CIC. call again after 3 months to confirm.
* 2-3 times they said we cannot give you any information regarding your application, we have doubt that you are not sponsor but you are trying to get information about someone else's application.
* one agent asked my fees receipt number and said its for someone else not for me :o
i have very very bad exp. with CIC so i would suggest you not to call them and wait for there reply
best of luck

The CPC-M does not provide AOR.

Calling the CIC won't help. They will tell you that there is no records in the system. Just wait.

Currently, the CPC-M takes three months on average to process the sponsor stage. They will only hear from them once they reach a decision.
