Today I met a person who told me that he got his PR thru Express Entry in only 4-5 months. Here is his profile

IELTS R/S/L/W - 8.5/7.5/9/7.... Overall - 8
Qualification - Bachelor of Tech. (B.Tech) in Information Technology
Experience - 2 years as Software Engineer. Roles - Web API developer(NOC - 2173)
CRS - 413

I first thought that he may be lying because most of the people here has shared that time process of Express PNP is 15-18 months i.e. almost 1.5 years.

But when I argue with him he told me that he was automatically selected by Ontario because his CRS was 400 above and that he got ITA from Ontario in only 30 days. He also told me that his NOC was in high demand in Ontario that's why he got ITA so early than others.

Anyone here who got PR in this short period of time please tell if this is possible or not.

It's possible. I've seen more than enough similar cases, but that is not the norm, but it's more of a lucky handful of cases.

4-5 months is considered slow. people on this forum have got in in 40-50 days as well. your friend is correct.
srsly? I mean I'm talking abt PNP and not Express. Even in their official websites minimum time limit is 4-6 months max is 18-24 months?
are these some kind of special applicants with exceptional or in-demand NOCs or with high IELTS scores?

normally it takes 3 months to get pnp nomination and after that the express entry PR applications takes anywhere from 2 to 4 months on average.

He is correct, Ontario used to send invitation to 400 plus scores and also there was a time when they had specially sent invitation for the said noc which was in great demand even to people with below 400 scores. The timeline he gave could be for federal EE process and timeline for pnp could differ, but I have seen many cases where after going online, even Ontario was releasing pnp in like 15 days...
It is possible that he was lucky to have it sorted in 4 to 5 months. Each case differs.

what about the present scenario. I'm thinking of applying in Sept-Oct of this year and my CRS is 413 with 8 in ielts. NOC is 2175 i.e. web developer

With immigration, things keep changing, there is no definite answer for this.

that is actually very true. No one if something horrible happens like terrorist attack or something and they will put ban on almost all the applicants or may make the process too tough. who knows.

Some people just get super lucky. I'm still waiting here with 435 CRS.
whats ur NOC. maybe ur NOC is not in demand.
for how long u been waiting?
I've read on some forum in this site that in cases like these the applicant should start again by registering from new id. You should search abt it.

Forget PNP for a minute. Can you max out your IELTS score and use CRS calculator to see where you land?
