Hey guys,
I guess I need some advice...
My application to sponsor my American wife was received on 30 June 2016. Since then, I haven't heard anything. At that time,I thought my application was the most comprehensive application possible.

The only gap in our application was the chest xray.

I wrote a cover letter stating that my wife is pregnant and so we would do it after the delivery. And I intend to follow that plan.

My query is this - Once baby is born, and we do the x-ray, soon after I will apply for baby's passport... Can both mom and baby come and visit me in Toronto?
They will both be US citizens. And if so, can they stay here until we get the application processed? I'm hoping this won't be too long, because neither will have OHIP.

They can come to visit and then stay in Canada at anytime, simply based on having visa-exempt US passports.

Many people spend the entire time in Canada while app is processing in outland visa office. It's still an outland app, it never changes to inland. When your wife comes to Canada, chance her address with CIC and they will send the COPR to address in Canada once the app is approved.
