Hi all.

I have a small problem. I've recently become a permanent resident of Canada but I don't have my PR card yet. Does anyone know if I can use my confirmation of permanent residence (that says I've landed and the date I became PR) to show my immigration status in Canada to the American embassy? My appointment is May 1st and I doubt I'll have my card by then. I plan to go to the states end of June for a scientific conference.
Hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance!!!!

American embassy would accept your CoPR and immigration visa, you dont have to show PR card to get US visa. However I am not sure that you will get US visa on the basis of canadian permement residency. They have more requirement, like good job and income in Canada. The same ties which one have in home country is to be shown in Canada.
