American having PR, living in Canada but working in USA

I am trying to find the most accurate information on this...

I am sponsoring my husband (we are a Feb 6 app & the rest of our timeline is below). I live just over an hour from the Peace bridge in Buffalo. Currently my husband is renting a room in Buffalo and works for Gieco. Once he lands and is officially a PR holder in Canada can he live here and continue to work in the USA?

He likes his job and he makes really good money. He also likes the idea of still have health insurance in the states for himself and our son. We have talked about moving closer to Niagara Falls if this is a real possibility.

I understand there are going to be tax issues that arise from this but I can take that in stride. I know once he lands if he leaves he can't get back into Canada without his PR card? Or will he because the US is a visa exempt country?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Yes - he can do that. He can re-enter using his COPR until he receives his PR card. Recommend he get a Nexus car to speed up crossings.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to be PR and live in Canada, and commute daily to US for work purposes. There should be no problems at all. Would be recommended to get a NEXUS card.

Not sure about the other questions but the PR card only applies to flying, not when travelling by land

It doesn't even apply to flying for US citizens, as you can just use US passport to travel.

Once at the Canadian border (either land or airport), CBSA can easily look up his PR status with just passport and COPR. Just tell them he's still waiting for PR card in the mail, and they will let him in easily.
