Its simple just go to your local registry, fill out a form..in 3 weeks you get a provincial certificate of name change

She'll have to change her PR card after the name change (and drivers license and health card), which is ultra simple, but yes, that easy

The name that she uses for her application is the name on her passport. That name will also be used for her PR card.

My recommendation is that it is easier to update her passport with her married name before she lands as a PR. My wife did this. That way her PR card will have her new married name. It will be easier than getting her PR card in her maiden name and then having to update it.

- Once she has PR, change her name - simple done at a registry
- Change PR card, drivers licence and health card - this is also relatively simple

If she updates her passport so she can use my last name, will her FBI background check with her maiden name on it still be valid?
