I just noticed a change in our (inland) timeframe... looks like 43 days for the sponsorship, 5-6 months for AIP and 5-6 months final? So.... that's 11.5-13.5 months total??
she got her TRV by the way, and we should be in country next week! So excited, thank you all so much for your help and best of luck to everyone!!!
The 43 days for sponsorship is for Mississauga - for outland applications before the file is transferred to the overseas visa office to process the applicant. So that doesn't apply to inland aps.
The inland process is entirely through Vegreville (or a local office if the file gets transferred due to complications). The most recent timeline postings for Vegreville shows that the first stage of assessment is taking 5-6 months (but they also say they are currently processing applications received in January - 8 months ago), so I'm not so sure about a 5-6 month timeline. Anyway, what that means is that they don't even open the inland application until at least 5-6 months after receipt . . . right now they're opening applications received through January 31st. After the first stage of assessment is completed, it's another 6-12 months to finalization. Overall inland timelines haven't changed once in the four years I've been watching . . . they always quote 12-18 months, even though the timelines to first stage approval do change somewhat. They've gone from 4-5 months in mid 2005 to 9-10 months in 2006-07, and then to 6-7 months . . . until the recent change to 5-6 months - with them opening aps received in January. I really don't know what that's about.
