So I changed Universities without realizing the clause in my Study permit that says :

attendance at the university college or institution specified by the immigration officer Is required

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=487&t=15

I saw this, and my International advisor said its ok to switch.
Now I'm tensed because I suddenly saw this clause in my passport and have no idea what to do now. It has also been more than 90 days since I transferred. So If my study permit is invalid I can't even apply for a new one.

Any insight on this pros? Please help since I'm scared to even inform CIC about this clause anymore.

when did you go to Canada? before June 14 or after?

That clause make sense only if a specific school name is mentioned under that clause.

Yeah that would be University of Waterloo. I transferred to University of Toronto Scarborough.
But will that statement pose a threat to me? I'm scared to call CIC now since it has been 3 months since I left uWaterloo. :(

I think as you entered Canada before june 2014, you had to inform CIC about your transfer things. With the introduction of new policies, students who got their study permit approved, may transfer there institution/program of study without reporting to CiC.

first and foremost how did the new university allow u to study on a restricted study permit? since they did it makes me believe that name of university is not on ur study permit. So my advice is go to ur university's international students office and show them ur study permit and ask ur questions.

I don't know why they didn't notify me during admission that the permit is restricted, i would not have transferred. I could post a photo of the permit with info blurred, it does state the University name. I think the International office thought that the new rules applied to me as well, where you could change University as long as it is DLI.
Anyway, what can I do now to change my condition? Should I hire an immigration lawyer?

Hi, did you have any problem with changing your DLI despite of having that condition in your study permit? everything went well?
